Cats and Dags and Ducks

Apparently, I've been taking pictures of animals. I was discussing with myself the other day how I didn't care too much for images with no point of focus, and now I'm posting three out of focus images because I like them. I am not sure what to think of that.


Meet bandit, or softie. My parents dog.

I went to the bay in Maryland over the break and here are some images. The ones of me in front of the lighthouse were photographed by Ashley. The selftrait (the first image) was done in Dallas as I have found myself with an abundance of time and limited options for activities lately. So I have read eight books now, become fairly good at pool, but recently found a free skate-park so that should help prevent me from taking more photographs of myself.


Apparently, I have an out-of-character, and serious, look of concentration, but I believe I was only thinking "wow, the sun is bright."


This needs a human in it, but no one wanted to be beautiful.

Robots

I know I haven't posted in a while, so this will be very anti-climatic. "Zaven Paré is a French new media artist who lives in Rio. He has won international acclaim for his electronic puppetry, stage design, video projections, and robotic art. He has collaborated with dancers and playwrights as well as with other digital artists and robotics engineers." This thing was pretty interesting, Pare would create a mold for the face, and then use a projector that would project up and then bounce off a mirror into the back of the mold. The image being projected was created by some sort of program that allowed Pare to make the robot talk and move it's eyes; I could definitely see this sort of technology used in the future.

Tillers with 750 cc motorcycle engines, a fire and wildart!

The tiller race is a unique event in a town three hours away from Little Rock with a population of 359 according to the sign seen upon entering Emerson city limits. The tillers have motorcycle engines and race across a dirt field 200-feet in length at an average speed of 18 to 24 mph depending on the driver. The racers are not riding the tillers, they are desperately holding on and running behind them taking steps no shorter than 10 feet. The crowd is filled with travelers from around the south, some travel as many as 8 to 12 hours to come see the event. I know I would make the drive again. This year two women and three men competed, a small count compared to usual, but they hope more will enlist next year.

This is the dedication ceremony of a park opening in downtown Little Rock, I thought it looked like a fun park.

The Ozark Mission Project is a camp aimed to have teenagers help the community by building porches, wheelchair ramps and painting houses among other things for less fortunate and handicapped people.

The guy in the white shirt owns this house and was working in a shed in the backyard when he came out found his house on fire. No one was hurt and the fire burned throughout the inside of the house.
